Joberate (www.joberate.com) is an early stage startup in the HR Technology predictive analytics space. We’ve developed a disruptive approach to quantifying, measuring, and scoring job seeking behavior of the global workforce, and even though we are still an early stage startup we already have paying clients! The company’s vision is to become the FICO score equivalent for job seeking behavior, which we call a J-Score, but we have ambitious goals to enter other verticals in the future such as Financial Services, Media, and Macroeconomics.
The company seeks a Chief Data Scientist, preferably with a background in HR or related technology (ie. ERP, etc.), with strong hands on experience in “Big Data” as well as predictive modeling, optimization, machine learning, and experience using a broad range of advanced technical tools. For example, such tools could include Python, R, SAS, Hadoop, CPlex, C++, etc.
This is an Executive Level leadership position that will be responsible for charting and developing quantitative solutions to solve complex business problems. The successful candidate will be involved in developing leading edge, “out of the box” advanced analytic solutions and processes.
Requirements
Intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial drive, structured thinking and problem solving skills, innovator
Bachelors Degree (but a Masters or PhD is preferred) in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics. Computer Sciences, OR, Industrial Engineering or equivalent)
7+ years developing advanced analytic solutions for business in a “Big Data” environment
Strong hands on experience in predictive modeling, optimization, machine learning using a range of advanced technical tools. Such tools could potentially include Python, R, SAS, Hadoop, CPlex, C++, etc.
Industry thought leader with a track record in developing new analytics techniques or processes. Prior publication, and experience in speaking engagements is highly preferred
Able to work in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
Ability to work with cross functional, multinational teams, and multiple stakeholders
Ability to effectively engage clients in discussions related to growth and solutions and develop relationships
Salary and other remuneration
This is a key hire so salary will be negotiable. Since Joberate is still a startup, the full remuneration will be heavily comprised of equity opportunity (upside). The Chief Data Scientist of Joberate has to appreciate that he/she is taking on an opportunity with a disruptive technology company where his or her “first-employee” type of equity will have tremendous long-term value.
