Hello,
For those who have trouble to see the relationship between the various data mining techniques, there is a visual classification of data mining techniques on this website (http://chem-eng.utoronto.ca/~datamining/dmc/data_mining_map.htm ). Of course, it is not perfect. But it is interesting.
Note that on the website, you can click on the pictures to get a description of the techniques.
