Evaluate the data in pre-processing step

I'm working on text mining .First I want to do pre-processing to the data converting it from informal to formal. Example in Twitter the text great is written gr8(gr8 it is informal it will be converted to great formal) I have done this step.
My question is how to evaluate my pre-processing is there any measure to do the evaluation to know is my conversion is right. Any one can help me regarding that.
Any papers has done the same so I can do same.My objective in this work just pre-processing the next objective will be classification
