Limits in exploratory analysis

I have a question about exploratory analysis. I don't understanding the meaning of the problem, so I am not so sure.

"Give an example of a simple connection, the pattern of which is not or hardly visible with a scatter plot as a pattern.

Assume that the data is numeric. You do not have to specify the individual points. If possible, represent the relationship as a formula. (e.g. y = 2x) Unless otherwise stated, the data is a random set of points that meets this formula. Assume that the dots are actually visible, the pattern is not simply filtered out.

Result : brief description of the connection"

Is there anybody could help me? Thanks a lot.

Regards,
